‘Callinectes’ our Beneteau 411 is a very popular boat for two couples, or larger families that want to have a two cabins, two head layout. She is equipped with a roller furling headsail and roller furling mainsail, which makes for easy sail handling. With her tall rig she sails well, even in light air (not that we ever have that problem on the Chesapeake in the summer)! Down below, she is well appointed with a very large head with shower forward which is used by the forward cabin. There is a large double berth to starboard, and a hanging locker, set and stowage areas to port. Moving aft, we move into the spacious main salon. To port is a large single settee with a well equipped aft facing nav. station. To starboard, there is a large semi-circular settee with an expandable table, which also lowers to make a double berth. Aft of that is a very large galley to starboard, with ample sink, counter, and refrigeration space. Opposite the galley is the second large head with shower. Aft of the head is the aft cabin which is equipped with its own AC controls, and accommodations for two. To recap, two can sleep in the double berth in the forward cabin; three in the main salon; and two more in the aft cabin. She has multiple hatches and many opening ports, which make for great ventilation. If you are at a marina with shore power, turn on the two zone air conditioning & sleep comfortably! Stepping into her large cockpit with full dodger and bimini protection is great, and she even has a walk down transom with swim ladder. Forward there is ample deck space, large anchor well & windlass, and wide side decks to move about. She is equipped with a wing keel.
